Bauchi Guber: APC Candidate Rejects Result

Few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of Bauchi State governorship election conducted on Saturday, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd) has rejected the result.

Sadique said this during a press conference at his Bauchi resistance on Monday.

He alleges series of primitive violence across five local government areas of the state that mar voting process in the affected areas. He listed the affected local governments to include Warji, Toro, Kirfi, Ningi and Zaki.

“For us in the APC, the result is totally unacceptable. It does not reflect the desire of the people of the state

“We are aware that the election in Bauchi State was characterised by primitive violence, thuggery, intimidation of opponents, harassment of opponents and throwing out of APC agents in many polling units,” he stated.

The former Chief of Air Staff said after a careful consultation with all relevant stakeholders on the next line of action for the party, it will be communicated to the public.

Sadique commended APC supporters in Bauchi for their gestures towards the party during the election, urging them to stay peaceful and continue to be law-abiding.
