Bauchi Housing Commissioner Carpets Ortom, Says Accusations Against Gov Bala Baseless

Bauchi State Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Honorable Hamisu Muazu Shira has described the recent comments by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state against Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as baseless and unbecoming of a statesman.

WikkiTimes recalled that Governor Ortom has described Mohammed as a terrorist who was plotting to assassinate him, a statement that generated widespread condemnation.

Shira in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi challenged the Benue Governor, saying Ortom’s utterances disparaging Bala Mohammed defy basic decency.

Honorable Hamisu Shira who is a former member of the House of Representatives said “enough is enough”, warning Mr. Ortom to stop commenting on Governor Bala Mohammed’s statements on national issues.

The Housing and Environment Commissioner said Governor Bala Mohammed as an elected Governor, has a right to protect not only the interest of his own people but the entire Nigerians.

Shira said Bala’s statement on Fulani herdsmen was meant to foster peace and protect all Nigerians.

“So I am disappointed with the remarks that came out from Governor Ortom over what my Governor said. Senator Bala Mohammed was not talking as a sectional leader, but Mr. Ortom you must know that Governor Bala is qualified to lead this country.”
