Bauchi Kidnapped Woman Released After N1.5 Ransom

After spending eleven days with her abductors, Mrs Kafayyat Odedoyin was released after N1.5 million ransom was paid to the kidnappers, WikkiTimes can authoritatively report.

Recall that Mrs Kafayat was kidnapped on Friday, the 17th of September 2021 at Birshin Fulani, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis. Her abduction sparked protest where angry residents took to the street blocking roads and throwing bashings to Police and government for “failing” to protect them.

Speaking with our correspondent after she was released by her abductors, Kafayat husband Engr Surajudden Odedoyin said “I received her this morning after N1.5 million ransom was paid to the kidnappers.”

“She is currently with me and I will take her to the hospital for a medical check-up”, Surajudden told WikkiTimes on the telephone.

He said Kafayat is psychologically traumatized following the kidnapped incident; “because it was a difficult moment for her throughout the period of captivity.”

He said “she was sleeping in the bush under humiliating conditions because whether it was raining or sunny, she was kept outside throughout her stay with the kidnappers.”

Surajudden said the kidnap of his wife was equally a horrifying moment in his lifetime.

“It’s very difficult to even explain or describe how horrifying it is for me and the family, but we give glory to God now that she is back with us”, he added.

WikkiTimes reports that the community had accused the state government and other political office holders of neglect as incessant killings and kidnappings become the norm in the area.

The residents in a statement described the killings and kidnappings as “quite worrisome.”
