The flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Bogoro, Hon. Bulus Iliya has said that the propaganda being used by the ruling party in the state that Bogoro has always been for the PDP will not work this time around.
Hon. Iliya made this assertion while speaking in Bogoro town on Tuesday during the flag off campaign ceremony of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While thanking the party for giving him the opportunity to contest for the chairmanship position of the area, Hon. Iliya accused the ruling party of always trying to rig to win elections.
The chairmanship candidate who pleaded with the people of Bogoro LGA to cast their votes and wait for the outcome said there will be no room for rigging.
“Thought they would want to manipulate the process, but we believed in God and we believed we can defend our votes at any given time”, he said.
The APC candidate who alleged that the only option for the ruling People’s Democratic Party is to try to manipulate the election because they have the government expressed belief that with God and the people by his side he will win the election.
“Definitely, if they are going to conduct a credible election we will be victorious come this Saturday”, he confidently boasted.
While calling on the electorate to be law abiding, Bulus advised them to protect their votes.
He called on the Bauchi State independent electoral commission (BASIEC) to be non-partisan in the discharge of their constitutional mandate.
Also speaking, the chairman of the party in Bogoro, Mr. Haruna Rikaya expressed belief that the candidate of his party, Hon. Bulus iliya will emerge victorious.
He described the recent report that some APC members defected to the PDP Alkaleri LGA as a propaganda aimed at hoodwinking the electorate to make them believe that the PDP is a winning party.
In his part, former Chairman of Bogoro local government, Mr Ayuba Kushi appealed to the people of the area to turn out en masse and vote for the APC to enable them enjoy dividends of democracy.
According to him, the APC candidate has been helping many people in Bogoro in the area of education.
He noted that Bulus iliya as a grass root politician who knows that farming is the major occupation of the people of Bogoro will work hard to provide them with fertilizer and other farming inputs.
He said that the candidate of APC if voted into power will facilitate soft loans for small scale business owners to help grow their enterprises for the socioeconomic development of the area.
