Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Sunday led other top government officials on a sympathy visit to the victims of Sabuwar Kasuwa inferno within the state metropolis.
Bala while sympathizing with the victims at the scene of the fire incident, directed for the release of instant funds as support to ameliorate their sufferings.
This was contained in a press statement issued to journalists in the state by the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Lawal Muazu.
According to the statement, the Governor assured the victims of his administration’s plan to modernize markets across the State.
He added that the State Government will consider restructuring the Sabuwar Kasuwa.
Mu’azu said, Governor Bala while sympathizing with the victims urged them to consider the incident as an act of Allah the Almighty.
Earlier speaking, a Director at the Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency, Kabiru Yusuf Kobi said over 25 shops were affected as a result of the inferno which burnt to ashes properties worth millions of naira.
Kobi said the SEMA has conducted an assessment of the losses for proper intervention.
Mu’azu said Governor Bala was accompanied to the scene by the State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, Deputy Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly (BAHA), Honorable Dallami Ahmed Kawule, Honorable Commissioners among others.
