Bauchi NGO empowers 20 widows in Ningi LG

No fewer than 20 old widows in Ningi local government area of Bauchi state have been empowered with cash donation by a Bauchi based non governmental organization known as One Hand Charity.

Presenting the donation to the beneficiaries, the state chairman of the organization, Alhaji Sagir Adamu Shehu, revealed that assisting the less privilege especially women and children are some of the components of the organization.

Alhaji Shehu stated that since the establishment of the organization it embark on a community assistance programs to include health intervention and empowerment.

He said the benefiting 20 old women were selected from the communities of  Ningi local government area to be empowered with cash donation.

Sagir Adamu expressed hope that with the little resources of the organization it would extend hand of assistance to the less privilege and vulnerable persons in the state. Stressing that government along cannot cater all the needs of the citizens.

The chairman further, called on the government and other donor agencies to emulate from the vision and mission of his NGO so as to overcome the challenges faced by people, especially the less privilege in the society.

Speaking at the occasion Hajia Binta Uba Shehu, applauded the efforts of the organization, pointing out that with the intervention of the organization it would go along way in reducing the hardship being experienced by the women and children.

Hajia Binta therefore urged the well to do individuals and other organizations to key into community base empowerment projects with a view to pave way for the socio- economic advancement.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Habiba Uwa Gambo commended the organization for the good gesture.

She prayed Allah to reward the NGO abundantly, assuring that the money given to them will be judiciously utilized.
