Bauchi Philanthropist Donates Foods, Clothes To 200 Orphans, Widows

A Bauchi State-based philanthropist, Alhaji Bashir Ahmad has donated assorted food items and clothes to 200 orphans in Toro local government area of Bauchi State. 

Speaking at the distribution of the items, he said it became imperative for him to reach out to the orphans and other vulnerable children in the area so as to put smiles on their faces. 

Alhaji Bashir who also holds the traditional title of Sarkin Sudan of Toro said the ugly societal trend where orphans and less privileged children are condemned to a miserable life must be changed by all and sundry for the common good of all.

Alhaji Bashir represented by Imam Yunus Abdulhamid, the Chief Imam of Refinery Depot, Portharcourt, said the gesture is also aimed at alleviating the suffering of orphans as well fill the vacuum created by the loos of their parents.

He called on well-to-do individuals in the society to emulate the gesture of the Sarkin Sudan of Toro by assisting orphans, widows, and less privileged persons to improve their welfare and make them useful members of society.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke LEADERSHIP praised Alhaji Bashir for the succor he extended to them, adding that a large section of the society neglected them and their well-being.
