The Bauchi Police Command has invited Abdurrazak Nuhu Zaki, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for questioning over allegations of a planned attack on the campaign team of All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshal Baba Abubakar Sadeeq (rtd).
The invitation according to the police, is for the commissioner to clear the air over allegations that he orchestrated the attack on the campaign team in favour of his principal, Bala Mohammed, the incumbent governor of the state who is seeking reelection.

In a letter dated February 8 and signed by DCP Abdul W Salama, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the local government commissioner was advised to present himself to the SCID for fact-finding.
However, WikkiTimes learnt that the commissioner had honoured the invitation but details of what transpired remain sketchy at press time.
Ahmed Muhammed Wakili, spokesman for Bauchi State Police Command confirmed that the commissioner made his statement and left.
Wakili who didn’t give details of what transpired when the commissioner visited the command however, said it is normal for any public officer or an individual to be invited by the police if there is any allegation levelled against him.

WikkiTimes had reported that the campaign team of the APC govershnorship candidate was attacked by some political thugs in Akuyam, the hometown of the PDP State Chairman, a situation which led to the death of a young man after security operatives attached to the candidate allegedly repelled the attack by the hoodlums.
Also, it was after the Akuyam incident that the APC petitioned the district head of Akuyam, Iliyasu Aliyu and the State PDP Chairman Hamza Koshe Akuyam for insitigating thugs against its team.
