Bauchi Police Nabs Suspected Killer Of Four Children For Ritual

Police in Bauchi says it has arrested a 28-year-old suspected ritualist named Rufa’i Yunusa of Rumbu village in Ningi local government area of Bauchi state.


SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili, the Police Image Maker in a press statement made available to newsmen in Bauchi, said the suspect who was arrested on Wednesday, 17th February 2021, has been responsible for the killing of four children between the ages of 2-4.

The statement said the arrest of the suspect followed a complaint lodged at the Ganjuwa Division of the State’s Command on the same day at “about 1630hrs by one Isyaku Ahmed of Unguwan Yamma, Kafin Madaki”.

The statement said Isyaku who reported that “on Tuesday 16th February 2021, at about 1230hrs, the suspect took his daughter, one Maimuna Isyaku to a Native Doctor for traditional treatment where the said Rufa’i told him, that his daughter is suffering from a spiritual ailment and assured him that his daughter will be cured.”

The police said Maimuna was not the only victim, who the suspect usually disguises to be operating with consent from the victims’ parents.

The suspect it was learned usually tells the parents of the victims that their children may not return during healing sessions.

Knife and 26 pairs of children’s clothing were recovered as exhibits during the arrest.
The police say the suspect will be charged to court following its investigations
