Bauchi State Government has reengaged 13 retired medical doctors to serve in various units of hospitals in the state.
The move is coming on the heels of the approval Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the state gave in lieu.
Earlier, the governor vetoed the recruitment of additional 100 medical doctors in the state.

DR Muhammad Sambo Alkali, Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Hospital Management Board, refuted reports making the rounds that the state-owned health institutions grapple with a short supply of adequate doctors and other health professionals required to man the facilities.
He said all the 26 general hospitals of the state have qualified medical doctors working in them, adding that at the moment, the board is receiving applications from interested and qualified individuals willing to work as doctors in the state-owned health facilities.
Dr. Sambo, encourage qualify applicant outside the state to apply giving confidence that they will be considered.

He then, call on the media to publicise the recruitment exercise in order to reach out to the desired number of doctors.
