Bauchi Sacks LG Chairmen, Councilours

Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has directed the duly elected chairmen of the 20 local government areas and their councillors to vacate office immediately.

About two years ago, Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission conducted the election that produced the sacked chairmen and deputies. It was the first local government election in the state in over a decade.

The Governor in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Mohammed Gidado said the tenure of the elected chairman and councillors expired in line with the provisions of Section 2 (i) of the Local Government System Establishment and Administration of Local Government Councils Law of Bauchi State, 2013 as amended.
