Some stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State have alleged that the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman is a spy of the ruling People’s Democratic Party in the state within the APC.
Some party stalwarts who reacted to a recent publication where the Speaker accused the party of relieving him from being the leader of the party’s stakeholders in Ningi local government say the Speaker cannot be trusted.
A chieftain of the party from Ningi told WikkiTimes that the Speaker has not demonstrated serious loyalty to the party over the years.
Hon Farouk Mustapha, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Bauchi has doubted the loyalty of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Abubakar Sulaiman to his party.

Hon Farouk Mustapha in an exclusive interview with WikkiTimes said that the epileptic presence of the Speaker during the party meetings and other engagements was questionable.
He said Mr Sulueiman’s continuous failure to honour invitations of the APC for meetings at both the state and national level logically conveys his romance with the PDP.
“He is there on the platform of the APC as a Speaker and nobody is saying he should be fighting his governor. “However, has not been attending APC meetings despite the fact that the party used to invite him to such meetings. “How can he justify his repeated absence from the party’s meeting vis-à-vis his desire to control the affairs of the party”, Hon Mustapha asked.
He said that the speaker did not attend Bauchi APC’s critical stakeholders’ meeting held in Pali Suit in Bauchi.
Farouk said in view of his consistent boycott of the party activities, it was morally wrong for Hon Sulaiman to complain about any party’s decision to sideline him.

“It would have been illogical for the party to have allowed him to continue to be in that position especially at times when it is heading towards local government and state conventions.
“Even if he has sympathy for PDP or is nursing the idea to defect to the party, he should play along with the APC so long as he wants to deliver his chore as the informant of the governor”, Farouk stated.
“We are not unaware of the fact that the state is trying to infiltrate us, to bring on board from its fold people to disrupt the smooth conduct of our conventions. We are also aware that some of the current APC members are loyal to the PDP.”

Hon Farouk said that by virtue of the position of the speaker at the state level in Bauchi, he is the most senior person and should be a role model to other members of the party in the state.
Responding, Hon Abubakar Sulaiman said that it is not true that his presence in the APC was born out of his quest to serve as an informant to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and the PDP in the state.
The Speaker who spoke through his Spokesperson, Abdul Burra said to make such empty allegations on the speaker amounted to disrespect on his personality.
“He should tell how he is spying. It is not true and it can never be true.
“There is no meeting that he did not attend including the recent stakeholders’ meetings. He should not lie because of politics,” he urged.
