Over one thousand six hundred Civil Servants in Bauchi State are to participate were scheduled to write promotion examinations to enable them get promotion in their civil service career.
The state Head of Civil Service in collaboration with Dugge Management Services limited are organising a two day sensitization workshop for the affected workers at Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi.
The Bauchi state Head of Civil Service, Dr. Liman Bello said the exercise was a demonstration of the present administration’s commitment towards uplifting the state civil service, which he said will enhance human capital development.
He said the examinations would acquaint the civil servants in the state of professional and general knowledge to boost their capacity and reading culture.
Dr Liman Bello said the sate was on its way to re-invigoration and re-position the civil service by sustaining and strengthening the examination policy for optimal performance in the service.
Presenting an overview of the 2018 civil service promotion examination, the Managing Director of the Services, Alhaji Gambo Magaji said the workshop was organised to assist the benefiting workers to enable them succeed in the examination.
The state has downsized its workforce in recent years largely due to ghost workers and poor performance in such examinations.
It was not clear whether the state was making preparations to further reduce its workforce. But Governors have been having a running battle with the organized labor unions in recent months over minimum wage.
