The National Union of Bauchi State Students, NUBASS, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Chapter has conversed for more priority to girl child enrolment into school for the overall development of the state.
Speaking during a one day lecture organised by the students, Dauda Muhammad Chiroma, General Manager of Albarka Radio said that level of contributions the girls offer to the socio-economic growth and development of the country cannot be compared with that of their male counterparts.
He explained that a substantial increase in the population has made it mandatory for stakeholders to give the necessary attention to Girl child education to safeguard society.
Hajiya Aisha Kilishi, Bauchi State Amirat of The Federation of Muslim Women, FOMWAN, emphasized the need for massive advocacy on the importance of girl child education in the society to conscientise ignorant parents and guardians on the need to send their girl child to school.
He explained that Islamic religion has mandated the need for the proper education of both Genders, given a reference with the contribution of women during the lifetime of the prophet and his companions.
Highpoint of the event include the presentation of Gifts to deserving students from various primary schools within Bauchi Metropolis, as well as appointments laters to 10 female political appointees.
