Bauchi State Public Complaint and Anti-corruption Commission will henceforth scrutinise and probe mismanagement across the state.
Bala Mohammed, the state revealed via its Twitter handle earlier in the afternoon after signing into law the bill to establish the commission.

Bala said the development was part of his administration’s efforts to take advantage of the federal structure enshrined in the constitution that gives states the latitude to replicate functions.
“As usual, no corruption case will be overlooked in Bauchi state. Today, I backed it up by signing into law the Establishment of the Bauchi State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission.
“Establishing the Commission is part of my administration’s readiness to take advantage of the federal structure enshrined in the Constitution that gives states the latitude to replicate functions,” he said.
According to Bala, the commission will help in handling local issues like security, investigation, and prosecution of offences.
“This is another milestone in my administration’s drive towards strengthening transparency and accountability in the state,” Bala said.
WikkiTimes recalled that the governor in August signed the bill to give the legislature and judiciary financial autonomy, including other 11 bills.
