The Governing Council of Sa’adu Zungur University, a Bauchi State owned varsity, has approved the promotion of six lecturers to the rank of full professors.
WikkiTimes gathered that the university also okayed the promotion of five others to readers — associate professors.
Spokesperson of the University, Auwal Hassan disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters in Bauchi on Tuesday.
The promotions take effect from October 2023.
Hassan said those promoted to professors include Dr. Mustapha Garba, Dr. Shuaibu Musa, Dr. Jocob Dabo, Dr. Abdussalam Alhaqiqi, Dr. Zubairu Madaki and Dr. Sani Yana.
He identified the five other lecturers promoted to the rank of readers to include Dr Musa Wunti, Dr. Eghosa Elija, Dr Baba Tanimu, Dr Yunusa Abubakar and Dr Sani Abdullahi.
“The promotions of the staff reflect the university’s commitment to academic excellence, research innovation and the professional growth of its faculty.
“It is a demonstration of the exceptional dedication of the respective staff’s to their fields of study, significant contribution to both academic community and the broader society,” the statement read in some parts.
