Bauchic college of nursing and midwifery matriculates second set of students

Bauchi State College of Nursing and Midwifery has matriculated another sets of students for the second time.  

Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, the provost of the college, Hajia Rakiya Saleh said already most of the graduating students have been indexed with the nursing and midwifery council.

“Matriculation is indeed an important ceremony in the life of every tertiary institution. On this occasion, fresh students are made to take oath of allegiance to constituted authority and commit themselves to peaceful living as members of the college community. With this, every matriculated student is entitled to all rights and privileges recognized by the college.”

The Provost recalled that, Bauchi State College of Nursing and Midwifery was established by the state government via the state assembly law in January, 2011, to offer course of studies in Nursing and Midwifery in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Regulation.

On the approval to commence Community Midwifery Programme, Hajiya Rakiya Saleh expressed confidence that the present administration will provide all the necessary logistics for it to become a reality.

According to her, there are some challenges to be surmounted as the college now has increased indexing capacity which translates into the need for additional conductive facilities, especially provision of students’ accommodation and completion of the ongoing projects in the college.

“It is to be noted that this landmark achievement was recorded under the able leadership of his Excellency, Governor Bala A. Mohammed. In the same vein, we wish to extend our appreciation to the Governor and other stakeholders for their assistance and support in seeing to the successful continuity of the college.”

The Provost used the medium on behalf of the management, staff and students of the college congratulated Governor Bala Mohammed on the affirmation of his election by the Supreme Court.

The Bauchi state First Lady, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed while addressing the students, pledged to contribute towards reducing the menace of maternal and child mobility in the state  through massive awareness.

Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed who was concerned about the rate of maternal and child mobility in the state, stressed the need for all hands to be on desk to address the situation.
