Days after blackout that crippled businesses and social activities in northern Nigeria, electricity has been restored in some states through the Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) franchise.
WikkiTimes learnt that Plateau State capital has been reconnected to the national grid Wednesday evening at about 7:30 pm.
A Bauchi resident Abubakar Sadik confirmed that light has been also restored in the state capital Wednesday evening.
WikkiTimes could not independently confirm but it was learnt that Benue has also been reconnected to the national grid.
It was learnt that Jos residents erupted into jubilation when light was restored after days of sustained darkness.
However, Gombe residents told WikkiTimes that as at 8pm Wednesday, electricity has not been restored.
WikkiTimes reports that north western and north eastern states have been plunged into darkness following the tripping of the 330kV transmission line that connect the states to the national grid.
