Blow, Despair As Bride Price, Groom’s Dress Disappeared in Kano

In a dramatic turn of events, a wedding Fatiha was nearly called-off in Fagge Quarters in Tarauni area of Kano metropolis as the bride price sanctioned to validate tying the nuptial knot banished at the wedding venue.

On the other hand, the celebrating groom nearly went for his planned wedding in old clothes as the special dress he reserved miraculously disappeared.

WikkiTimes learned that both the bride price and dress were lost about 24 hours before the wedding.

The groom, on the condition of anonymity, said he lost the set of dresses which he kept in a secured place meant to be worn by him for the day.

The incident left him and his family devastated owing to the fact that he worked hard to save money and buy the missing wears.

Inflaming the groom’s already raising tension, most attendees suggested calling off the wedding.

It took the intervention of elders at the occasion to calm the situation and later agree that the wedding Fatiha proceeds with the promise of paying the bride price later, in what is called ‘Ajalan’(a term used to describe conducting Islamic marriage without a bride price based on an agreement that the groom will pay in due course).
