Bogoro LGC Calls For Rehabilitation Of Hospital, Others

Mr Iliya Habila, Chairman, Bogoro Local Government Council in Bauchi State, has urged the state government to rehabilitate its general hospital to enhance access to quality healthcare service delivery in the area.

Habila also called for the rehabilitation of secondary school and access road to link the local council headquaters with adjourning communities. He decried the poor state of the facilities caused by neglect in the past years, adding that the hospital and school needed urgent attention.

The Chairman said that the rehabilitation of the road would link about 20 communities, ease transportation difficulties as well as encourage sustainable social and economic development.

He listed the communities to include Dinki; Dazara, Sara, Gambar Lere, Gambar Zumunchi, Yangal and Unguwan Waje.

Others were Bugun; Gobbiya, Gargare, Tundum-Zakkam, Gizaki, Lisa, Lafiyan Sara, Yabra,  Dutsen lawal and Marti. “The Unguwan Waje culvert had been washed away to flooding. “

The communities are inaccessible and movement of goods and services is difficult” he said. Habila lauded Gov. Bala Mohammed for the construction of Lusa-Bogoro and Boi-Tapshin roads, adding that the projects had opened up the area for economic activities.

The Chairman said that the state government had also upgraded the Bogoro water scheme designed to access to safe drinking water in the area. “

We also appreciate the expansion of water scheme in the 13 wards in the area.” he added. According to him, Bogoro has been certified as Open Defecation Free status in view of the improved water, hygiene sanitation services in the area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that about 60 women were trained on various trades under the vocational skill acquisition programme initiated by the council to empower youths and women. (NAN)
