Audu Madaki, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi State, was waylaid by gunmen who attacked his convoy in Barde Zangidi village, along the Kaduna-Abuja highway, killing one of his men.
WikkiTimes, reliably gathered that the AIG sustained gunshot injury on his leg. He had since been taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Insiders said Madaki’s convoy was attacked by the terrorists on Tuesday around 2:30 pm.
Details of the slain officer in the AIG’s convoy are yet to be made public. But his body has been deposited in a morgue, WikkiTimes learnt.
Thomas Goni, the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 12 told WikkiTimes the details of the attack are still sketchy at press time.
“The thing happened in Kaduna. So we are still waiting for the detailed report from the Kaduna command,” he said. “As of now, we don’t know anything about it. I have been on the neck of the spokesperson for Kaduna police so we can make the information available to the public.”
However, he said he will make it available to the press and the general public once he gets the detailed report
