Breaking: A faction of Bauchi APC suspends State Party Chairman, Uba Nana

Barely 24 hours after Adamu Mohammed Bulkachuwa Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District of the State was suspended from the APC, a faction of the party at the State level has announced the suspension of Uba Nana, its State Chairman.

Some aggrieved members of the Party during a press conference on Wednesday accused Mr Nana of gross misconduct, describing his continued stay in office as illegal.

Ibrahim Ago, a stalwart of the party who addressed the press in Bauchi accused the former governor of the state MA Abubakar for “illegally leading a fraudulent election that produces the current leadership of the party.”

He said the current set of leaders of the APC under the leadership of Uba Nana where responsible for the failure of the party during the 2019 elections.

He said the processes that produces the leadership of Bauchi APC in the state was faulty, adding that “we have decided to dismiss them and appoint Malam Aminu Na-Borno as an interim Chairman pending when election will be conducted to get the full leadership of the party.”

Mr Ago also accused Uba Nana of romantisising with the PDP led administration in Bauchi State.

Also commenting, Rabiu Shehu Dan-Baba who introduced himself as the Chairman of the APC in Bauchi LGA, described Uba Nana, the state APC Chairman as “inept and lacking the leadership qualities to lead the APC in Bauchi State, hence his dismissal as the State Chairman.

Responding, Uba Nana, the APC Chairman in Bauchi state described the suspension as illegal.

“Those that conducted the press conference are non-entities who lack legitimacy to dismiss anyone”, he said.

Mr Nana described the group as “political contractors who cannot survive outside power”.

The APC Chairman said the conveners of the press conference were defeated during the election that produces the APC leadership “and that is why you can still see the frustration in their faces.”

Nana said the group completely lacks legitimacy and does not deserve any response from the party.
