The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly arrested Dr. Yakubu Adamu, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance.
Sources within the commission disclosed to WikkiTimes that Dr. Adamu was arrested in Bauchi on Saturday and later taken to the EFCC Gombe Zonal Office. As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the arrest remain unclear.
Efforts by WikkiTimes to obtain official comments from the EFCC proved unsuccessful, as officers contacted said they were not authorized to speak on behalf of the commission. Messages and calls to the EFCC spokesperson at the Gombe Zonal Office were also not responded to.
WikkiTimes recalls that the EFCC had earlier, in March, arrested the Bauchi State Accountant General, Sirajo Jaja, over alleged ₦70 billion fraud.
