Breaking: Eight Months After, Bandits ‘Return’ to Lavun LGA in Niger

Eight months after bandits wreaked havoc in over 10 villages in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, the bloodthirsty terrorists have reportedly returned to the council sacking villages.

A discrete source who spoke to WikkiTimes said some villagers heading to a neighbouring village from Dari ran in Egbako ward ran into the rampaging terrorists. “They called us that the bandits have besieged again and we are currently in the forests now,” the source said.

A local security officer corroborated the claim, saying local fighters are well prepared to go and confront the bandits.

“We learned that they came in through Akere village and that they are on the loose now in some villages, but there is no actual intel as to where they are currently,” he told WikkiTimes.

The last time the terrorists invaded the LGA, a number of locals were killed and many houses were equally pillaged. They also kidnapped scores of people among which some just regained freedom a few months back.
