The committee chairman noted that the massive support being shown by Nigerians in course of the presidential campaigns was a clear indication of success in the Feb. 16 polls.

According to him, his committee was set up by the party to tour the seven North West states and meet with stakeholders and other supporters to garner support for the President and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

“We started from Katsina, Kano, Jigawa and now Kaduna. Our primary function as a committee is to remind people of the present administration’s achievements and where Nigeria had been before May 2015.

“In 2015 APC has no government, we are now in Government and need to look back and see where we are coming from and where we want to go after the election.

“Hopefully, if the Almighty grant us the permission to continue again, for the good thing that have been done, people need to be reminded, people tend to forget fast.

“A lot has been done particularly in the area of security: you can recall that four years ago in the North Eastern zone you can hardly move, but today we can proudly say we can move around.”

“Mr President has made pronouncement that after the election, if he comes back, they will completely bring the security situation in some parts of the country under total control.

Magoro noted that power supply, which had been Nigeria’s greatest problem has been addressed and people are happy with the level of improvement in the sector.

He also said that the present government has been taking care of the issue of youth unemployment by introducing lots of measures particularly the N-power program which had engaged over 500, 000 graduates.

While assessing the meeting with various stakeholders, Magoro said, so far, it had been very successful.

“When you are reminded, your commitment comes back, the response was total  of  endorsement, recommitment and confidence in the administration,” he said.

He commended Gov. El-Rufa’i for his giant strides in various areas including security, job creation and infrastructure development.

In his remarks, El-Rufa’i said party leaders in the zone were committed to surpassing the votes Buhari secured in 2015.

“We believe that whatever we have risk loosing in other zones, we can easily make up If we are able to make voter turn out in the North west to move from the average of 50 per cent in the last election to 60-70 per cent.

“We are decisive on the election, the President is from our zone, we have a duty to come out and ensure that we deliver him 100 per cent from this zone,” the governor stressed.

He appreciates the committee for the visit and highlighting the forgotten achievements of the Buhari administration.

“On our part, we are doing the best we can to be good ambassadors of the president to represent him well and present his record of achievement and the APC.

”We are confident in Kaduna state that we are in a good shape to match or even exceed the 70 per cent of the President vote in the state,” he said.

He said, the state have constituted a strong campaign council, adding “we have done a very good job in our campaign, we have gone round visiting all LGAs to deliver.

“And all our officials and appointees are out in their constituencies and everyone is expected to deliver his ward if not his local government,” the governor said.

“We are confident that in the North west the president will prevail and the question is how much.

“We want to raise his dominance with such a wide margin to cover whatever happens in other zones,” he said.

According to him, presently the Kaduna state has 3.9 million voters, the second highest in the North and the 3rd highest in Nigeria.

“I have been told that voter cards collection is high we are doing well as par as voter cards collection is concerned,” he added.
