Buhari’s Ex-Aide, Bashir Ahmed Alleges Rigging, Shares Video After Defeat In Kano APC Primaries

After losing his house of representative bid in Kano state, Bashir Ahmad, the former aid to President Muhammadu Buhari, has shared a leaked video exposing how delegates rigged the votes at his expense.

Ahmed, under All Progressives Congress (APC), had contested for the Albasu/Gaya/Ajingi Federal Constituency to unseat the incumbent Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya. Uniformately, he was outplayed in the party’s primary elections held in Kano on Friday.

Following the outcome of the election, Ahmad rejected the results, firstly citing thuggery as the chief cause of his failure.

In the leaked video, some men were spotted voting multiple times, a scenario Ahmad alleged was a rig.

In his reaction to the clip, Ahmed said scoring a single vote must have been a miracle for him, adding that there is much to what is shown in the clip he had uploaded.

His words: “Just a glimpse of what happened during the so-called primaries in my constituency. Scoring a single vote must have even been a miracle. There is much more to what was seen here. Exploring all the possible and legal ways to reclaim our mandate.”
