Buhari’s Ex Sports Minister Dalung Renegades, Berates APC Over Unfulfilled Promises

Solomon Dalung, a former Youths and Sports Minister during the first tenure of President Buhari has said that Nigerians are hugely disappointed in the performances of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Dalung who is a card-carrying member of the APC served as minister for four consecutive years between 2015 to 2019 under the APC lead federal government.

He said this when he granted an interview to BBC Hausa Service in Abuja during the inauguration of a third force movement, The New Movement.

Dalung said the abysmal performances of the APC thus far left Nigerians with a broken heart.

“The truth must be told that the APC as a party did not fulfil the promises it made to Nigerians.

“It didn’t perform to our expectations. Whether it failed or not, that is left for them, but it didn’t perform well.

“The situation we found ourselves, that is security challenges, killings of people all over, displacing people and the fact that people cannot access their farms is indeed worrisome.

“So, it is not our own selfish interest that gathered us here, it is for the interest of the people and for the wellbeing of the country.

“Anything that will bring peace and will elevate us from this situation is a welcome idea and this is one of it,” he said.

The antecedents of Dalung after exiting office as Minister showed a renegade personality who, at the instant of not making for the ministerial list of President Buhari for his second tenure, embarked on antics campaign against a government he was a kitchen member.
