‘Buhari’s Friends’ Donate 30 Trucks of Rice To Bauchi As Ramadan Palliatives

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara has facilitated the donation of 30 trucks carrying bags of rice to the citizens of Bauchi state as Ramadan palliatives.

Represented by the member representing Bauchi local government federal constituency in the House of Representatives Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi, the former speaker said the gesture was meant to bring succour to the people of the state in this fasting month of Ramadan.

The distribution ceremony which was flagged off on Wednesday at ‘Double 4 centre’ Bauchi, according to the conveners was to demonstrate the remarkable love and admiration the President still exert in Bauchi State.

According to him Yakubu Abdullahi, Bauchi is the second home state of the president considering his popularity among the people of the state and the support he received there in the past elections.

“These items were facilitated by the former speaker house of representatives RT Honourable Yakubu Dogara to the people of Bauchi state. He nominated me and three other people to head the distribution committee”, Abdullahi said.

Also speaking, the person in charge of the distribution and storage of the foodstuffs Honourable Salisu Zakari who said that the rice would be distributed to people to be drawn from all polling units across the state and religious centres and parties said the distribution committee would also ensure that deserving people benefit from the gesture.

He explained that the distribution would begin with people living with disability who are more vulnerable members of society.

He lauded Mr Dogara for facilitating the donation to the state and urged him to bring more intervention to the state.
