Reverend Yakubu Pam said the governor also did well in sponsoring a good number of Christians from Bauchi to Jerusalem on pilgrimage.

He said with Bala Mohammed as governor, Bauchi State remains an epicentre of excellence and a reference point for interfaith harmony in Nigeria.

Responding, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed thanked NCPC for finding him worthy of the commendation, promising to do more for the people of the state without prejudice to religious or tribal affiliations.

The governor said his administration is committed to protecting the rights of minority groups in Bauchi to create the much-needed atmosphere for the development and progress of all the people of the state.

Governor Bala urged the NCPC leadership to use Bauchi airport to lift pilgrims to the holy from the Northeast as befitting facilities were provided at both the airport and pilgrims’ camp.
