Carpenter in court for allegedly stealing electronics worth N120,000

A 35-year-old carpenter, Erinayo Adebulu, who allegedly stole electronics worth N120,000 from a house of a businessman, on Wednesday appeared in an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State.

The police charged Adebulu, whose address was not given, with three counts of felony, burglary and stealing.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendant on April 24, around 12:30 a.m at a new site in Igodan Lisa along Okitipupa-Igbokoda Road, broke into the house of Mr Ajayi Omowole.

Orogbemi alleged that the defedant stole one LG Tape/CD player, one LG LCD TV wall screen and one Hyper-breeze standing fan totaling N120,000, property of Omowole.

The prosecutor said that the defendant committed offence contrary to sections 516, 411 and 390 (9), Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate Musa Al-Yunus admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.

Al-Yunus ordered that the surety who must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction, must present evidence of one year tax clearance paid to the state government.

He adjourned the case until May 15 for further hearing.
