Cathedral Church to Honour Eminent Nigerians at Silver Jubilee Celebration in Gombe

The Cathedral Church of Saint Peter, Bolari in Gombe State has announced that it will honour eminent Nigerians during the forthcoming Silver Jubilee celebration.

The Church also noted that it will host a ₦500 million fund-raising event for the Walter Miller College of Nursing Sciences, Kaltungo, as part of the event.

A statement issued to journalists in Gombe said among the awardees is the Archbishop, Metropolitan & Primate of All Nigeria, the Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba. Prior to his election and installation as Primate of All Nigeria, Anglican Communion, His Grace served as the Archbishop of Jos Province and was the pioneer bishop of the Diocese of Gombe.

it also noted that the Royal Father of the Day, His Royal Highness, Mai Kaltungo, Engineer Sale Mohammad, OON, is nominated for the Diocese’s Meritorious Award. A distinguished traditional ruler of the Kaltungo Emirate and Deputy Chairman of the Gombe State Traditional Council of Emirs and Chiefs, he is celebrated as a pilot, peace advocate, and a leader committed to unity across tribes, religions, and political affiliations.

Also honored will be Chief Sir John Agbata, Managing Director/CEO of Gombe Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, and Chief Mrs. Abigail Peter Fada, a former Programme Manager of the Gombe State Agricultural Development Programme and a renowned agricultural extension specialist and labor unionist. Four other distinguished nominees will also receive awards at the occasion.

The letter of nomination, signed by the Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Ven. Dr. Chukwuma Ejikeme, and Secretary, Rev. Donatus Ukoha, notes that each award is a tribute to the recipients’ service to the Diocese, encouraging them to continue their exemplary work.

The Church said Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will serve as the Special Guest of Honour while other notable Nigerians such as Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi will be in attendance.
