CBN Sensitises Farmers’ Group On Accessing Financial Interventions In Bauchi

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has yesterday sensitised members of the Active Nigerian Farmers and Rearers Association on various ways of accessing financial interventions on agricultural-related stuff.

Speaking during an interactive session with the farmers on Wednesday in Bauchi, an official of the Apex bank, Umar Ishaku said that the idea behind the exercise was to avail members of the association with vital information on how to access soft loans from financial institutions to boost their businesses.

“We are here to enlighten them about our activities and how they can benefit from them. We also enlightened them on the processes to be taken to enable them to benefit from such soft loans and how they will repay with ease”, he said.

On his part, the National Organizing Secretary of the association, Mr. Umar Sama’ila thanked officials of the apex bank for impacting the knowledge in his members.

According to him, they had engaged CBN officials for an interactive session with members of the association with a view to enlightening them regarding farming and animal rearing and how to obtain agricultural loans to boost their productions.

He said, during the interaction, members of the association were provided with the available specimens that will serve as a guide on how to access varieties of CBN interventions such as the anchor borrowers among others that can ease ways of doing their businesses.

Also, a member of the association, Mrs. Nakom Shuaibu expressed gratitude to the CBN officials for the enlightenment, adding that it will go a long way in helping farmers, especially women to expand their farming businesses.

Mrs. Shuaibu who is into rice farming of about 10 hectares per anum, said with financial intervention from the CBN, she can add more hectares which will, in turn, create employment opportunities for many jobless youths.
