Comrade Saminu Umar, Bauchi State Chairman of Persons with disabilities has called on his followers to give their energy to acquiring entrepreneurial skills to become self-reliant.
The Comrade maintained that it is the only way that they can be able to shun street begging and its attendant effect.
The Chairman said this during a special prayer session organised for the founder of Challenge Your Disability Initiative, Hajiya Abiodun Isah Yuguda in Bauchi.
Comrade Umar said that engaging in entrepreneurial skills by its members would not only reduce dependency and street begging to survive but empower them to become employers of labour.
He said that the special prayer was organized for the founder of CYDI for the support she rendered to the people living with disabilities in the state through the provision of Health care services, education, and skills acquisition among others.
The Chairman said with the support of the initiative, the members became productive and have immensely contributed to the development of societies in different areas.
Comrade Umar urged members of the association not to allow their disability to deter them from engaging in useful ventures to become self-reliant as well as employers of labour.
