Chinese Community Demands Prosecution of Kano Girl’s Killer

The Chinese Business Community Association of Nigeria, CBCAN, has called for the prosecution of one of its members who allegedly slit the throat of Umukulthum Buhari, a young Kano girl, leading to her demise.

WikkiTimes reports that Mr Geng Quanrong, a Chinese national based in Kano, broke into Umukulthum’s apartment and killed her after she reportedly rejected his proposal to date her, something that infuriated him.

Mike Zhang, leader of CBCAN in Kano in a statement on Monday said the action of Mr Geng is condemnable, adding that appropriate security entities must be allowed to do their work without undue interferences to pervert the course of justice.

The statement described the action of Mr Geng as a criminal act that must be professionally handled by relevant Nigerian security agencies.

The Chinese community in Kano is fully in support of the law taking its proper course,” the statement read in parts.

The statement said:“the Chinese community in Kano is fully in support of the law taking its proper course”.

The community further appreciates the hospitality accorded to the members of the Chinese Community in Kano.
