A commercial sex worker has allegedly stabbed a barman to death in Adamawa State over unpaid N200 balance of local liquor.
The suspect, Riyanatu Musa, a 32-year-old resident of Mubi South LGA, had a misunderstanding with a local barman, Yohanna Musa when she failed to pay the remaining balance of N200 after paying N1,500 for the dry gin she bought from the victim.
Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesman of Adamawa State Police Command said, the suspect had earlier promised to pay the remaining balance the following day but ended up in a brawl with the barman whom she stabbed with a knife in the chest.
“She confessed committing the heinous crime by saying she had collected dry gin known as “big benz and Yahoo” from the deceased and promised to pay the following day, saying that she paid the sum of N1,500 remaining the balance of 200 Before engaging themselves into a fight resulting her stabbing him with a knife in the chest to death”, said Yahaya.
While warning that the police will not allow people to be taking laws into their hands, the spokesman added that the suspect will soon be charged to court pending conclusion of investigation.
