Hon Hamisu Mua’azu Shir, Bauchi State Commissioner for Housing and Environment has called on contractors handling the construction of the new Government House to justify the confidence reposed in them by working in line with International based practice.
He also charged them to ensure the contract is delivered according to the timeframe contained in the project specifications.
Hamisu Muazu Shira made the call while leading a team of Government House Correspondents on an inspection visit to ascertain the progress of the work.
Hamisu Shira who said the project is expected to be completed before the end of next year, listed its components to include the new Governor’s Office, International Conference Center, Medical Center and Staff Quarters among others.
While expressing satisfaction with the commitment of the contractors, the commissioner assured that the ministry will sustain monitoring and evaluation to ensure strict adherence to the contractual agreement.
Speaking on the significance of the project, the Commissioner maintained that when completed it would project a good image of the state considering the ugly status of the previous one.
Briefing the Commissioner on the level of the project, the site engineer Samuel Olorogun said efforts are being made to ensure quality work is delivered in time.
