Constituents Acuss Ex-Speaker Dogara of Hoarding APC Congress Nomination Forms

Irate members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State have alleged that a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has hijacked nomination forms for the local government congresses in the area, Daily Trust reports.

Alhaji Bala Burga, one of the aggrieved APC leaders, told newsmen at the end of their meeting in Bauchi, that Dogara denied political actors in the area who are not in his camp the opportunity to seek elective offices in the party.

“The forms were supposed to be given to the APC Chairman of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, but instead the state leadership of the party gave the nomination forms to Dogara’s close ally, Hon Muhammad Aminu Tukur, who collected the forms on behalf of Dogara and gave it to Dogara’s supporters only.

“It is good for APC to learn their lesson from what happened in Zamfara State where the Supreme Court sacked all elected members of the party and gave victory to PDP for the failure of APC to conduct party primaries according to the party constitution,” he said.

WikkiTimes’ effort to get Hon Aminu Tukur to comment on the matter proved abortive as his number was switched off as at press time.
