Constituents hail Bauchi Deputy Speaker for distributing 300 bags of rice, cash

Constituents that made up Zungur/Galambi at the Bauchi State House of Assembly have applauded the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule for distributing 300 bags of rice and cash across all the polling units of the constituency.

Salisu Yakubu Zungur from Zungur ward who benefitted from the distribution described the gesture as timely, adding; “he has done what many politicians could not do. Despite the size of the constuency being the largest in Bauchi, Danlami Kawule is able to reach out to all the political units that made up the constituency with his Ramadan intervention”, Salisu said.

Another beneficiary, Isiaka Abdullahi from Miri ward who thanked the law maker for distributing the rice during the holy month added that “we hope that God will multiply you in rewards and wealth especially for intervening into our lives at this critical period of lockdown.

He said the distribution will enable him feed his household with ease throughout the holy month adding that, “I’m calling on wealthy individuals to follow the footsteps of Hon. Kawule”.

The lawmaker, who used the opportunity to sensitize people on the dangers of coronavirus, described the pandemic as “deadly, and people have to be very careful not to infect others because of their recklessness.”

He added that “I’m calling on all the people of Bauchi State to adhere to guidelines and reduce entering crowds especially in markets, because they are flash points through which one could easily contract the virus”.

Danlami Kawule also commended Governor Bala Mohammed for what he called “sympathetic mind in dealing with this delicate issue of lockdown.

“Imagine if the Governor had implemented the total lockdown, people would have insulted him because they cannot afford to eat food while indoors; but our Governor is the listening type, hence the partial lockdown to enable people meander around for their daily breads”, he said.

He called on representatives of the various polling units to ensure fairness in the distribution of the Ramadan palliatives.
