BBC Hausa reports that the court hearing was postponed until October 27 when Quangrong will appear with a translator who will serve as an intermediary for the Chinese-speaking suspect.
Hitherto, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesman for Kano Police Command, told WikkiTimes the suspect had been arrested and detained a day after the incident.
It was rumoured that the suspect and Ummita were in a relationship. However, a slight misunderstanding between them triggered the foreigner’s action, according to social media users.

In another contradictory narrative, users claimed that the victim had earlier promised to marry the foreigner, but she failed along the line. This, according to them, vexed him to take her life.
Before today’s adjournment, users feared that the judicial system might fail to deliver justice, hence, they suggested jungle justice.
