Bauchi Governor to bolster school feeding programme

Bauchi State Government has pledged to provide the required logistical support for the sustenance of home grown school feeding programme in the state.

The State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed gave the assurance, Tuesday while flagging off the distribution of commodities for the programme in Bauchi.

Governor Bala Mohammed said Bauchi State being the highest state in the country in the area of out of school children needed tp support school feeding to incentivise enrollment.

He expressed optimism that school feeding programme would assist towards improving the education sector in order to address societal challenges.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa, the governor warned the vendors handling the programme against diverting the distributed commodities.

Mr Abraham Sunday from National Social Investment Programme Office Abuja, noted that President Muhammadu Buhari has provided all the needed support for the sustenance of the programme in the country.

The State Programme Manager, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Sani recalled that about 4,000 primary school pupils are currently benefiting from the programme in Bauchi state.
