COVID-19: Ex-Gov Abubakar donates N5m to Muslim coalition

The immediate past governor of Bauchi state, Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has given out the donation of N5 million to the state Muslim Coalition on COVID-19.

The Chairman of the Coalition, Professor Salisu Shehu disclosed this in a statement issued by the chairman, publicly sub committee Dr Hamid Adamu Muhammad on Saturday in Bauchi.

“With this new development, the former Governor is so far the highest monetary donor to the Coalition”, the statement explained.

It expressed appreciation for the gesture and prayed Allah to reward the former Governor abundantly.

The statement enjoined Muslims especially the well to do among them to donate generously to the Coalition to enable it reach out to the needy and other vulnerable members of the society accoss the state.

The coalition said, “prior to this donation, we had received monetary donations of 2.5 million Naira from the Executive Secretary of Tetfund, Professor Suleman Bogoro and 1 million Naira from Alhaji Garba Muhammad Noma.

Others the group said are, N500,000 each from Alhaji Maishanu Shafa and AYM Shafa as well as the donation of food items worth about N2 million from a former Governor of Bauchi State Alhaji Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu among others.

According to the statement, the distribution of packaged food items by the Coalition has reached additional local government areas of Zaki, Katagum, Giade, Kirfi, Warji and Bogoro.
