COVID-19: NASCO Group of Companies donate palliatives worth N60m

As part of moves to the fight the novel coronavirus, NASCO group of companies, have on Saturday, donated food items and detergents worth N60m to the Minister of the FCT, Plateau and Lagos states governments as palliatives to support vulnerable and less privileged during the ongoing lockdown exercise.

Dr. Attia Nasreddin, the Executive Chairman of NASCO group of companies said at a press briefing held at the company’s premises in Jos that, in addition to the items, cash donation of N10m has been paid to the federal government’s COVID-19 response initiative.

“As part of our corporate support to the unquantifiable work being done by the state and non-state actors in response to the pandemic, NASCO Group of Companies hereby announce its modest donation of items with combined final retail value of about N60m”, he said.

He added that the donated items include Action detergents, NASCO cornflakes and biscuits to be distributed to isolation centers in Lagos and Ogun states, stressing that other targeted beneficiaries are displaced persons in the IDPs, children and most vulnerable persons.

“These items were handed over to the Plateau state government, the Lagos state government and the FCT minister, Mal. Muhammad Musa Bello, respectively,” he said.

Dr. Nasreddin, advised people to strictly adhere to all safety measures put in place by health professionals which include, regular hand washing with soap and sanitizers and by obeying government’s directives and global best practices aimed at taming and overcoming the spread of COVID-19.
