As bandits continue to wreak havoc on Tsafe-Funtua highway, the Zamfara Police Command said it is aware of the situation, but believes that the road is safe contrary to scary reports.
The command’s spokesman, Shehu Muhammad said, the command is aware of some skirmishes along Tsafe – Funtua road, even though, the highway is not as bad as it is being reported.

“However, the commissioner of police had deployed realistic security measures to curtail the security challenges along the highway.
“Confidence building patrol has been intensified, as the ongoing effort has resulted to the arrest of many bandits and their collaborators.
“The command is reassuring the commuters of its continuous commitment to the safety of their lives and property. We urge the peace loving people to continue to support the effort of the police to ensure that the state is rid of all criminal activities,” Muhammad stated.

Albeit, reports had it that the marauders operated unhindered on the road in the previous week.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force in an aerial counterattack, killed a notorious bandit leader terrorising Kaduna State, Ali Dogo alongside 30 members of his gang.
Dogo who is otherwise known as Yellow had also breached peaceful atmosphere in Niger State. According to reports, he was masterminds of Kaduna-bound train attack.

A military source told PRNigeria that the notorious bandit leader, and his team had fled from Niger State to one Alhaji Gwarzo’s house at Yadi in Giwa Local Government Area for safety, following NAF aircrafts sustained bombardments on his location in Niger, recently.
“Unfortunately for Yellow and his men, while they were having a meeting, NAF aircraft struck Alhaji Gwarzo’s house, leaving everybody in the building neutralized including Yellow,” the source said.
