Disguising As Sallah Visitors, Gunmen Kidnap Fuel Station Owner In Kogi

Gunmen disguising as Sallah Visitors, have kidnapped Alhaji Muhammed Jamiu, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Always Petroleum Energy Services in Kogi State.

It was gathered that the victim was kidnapped in his Idare residence Okene, according to a family source.

The source added that when the gun-wielding bandits entered the victim’s house, they instructed him to follow them.

The source further said abductors were holding sophisticated weapons, shooting indiscriminately to scare away people who attempted to thwart the kidnap.

The victim, according to sources, was maltreated before being whisked away.

The Police spokesman of Kogi, William Ovye Aya, confirmed the incident, adding that the abductors went to the house shortly after Sallah prayers.

“The men, six in number, clad in agbada came to pay Sallah a visit to Idris, pretending to be his friends. In the process, they kidnapped him and whisked him to an unknown destination,” he said.

The PPRO added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, had tasked his men to go after the kidnappers, with a view to rescuing the victim and bringing the kidnappers to book.

The kidnappers had not made any contact with his family as at the time of this report.
