DSP Abba Kyari, Four Others Arrested By Police

Nigerian Police has arrested the suspended Head of the Force Intelligence Response Team IRT, DCP Abba Kyari.

He was arrested alongside four others on Monday hours after National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA declared him wanted over alleged drug links.

He is also under investigation after the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the U.S indicted him in the case of fraud involving Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi.

The report was investigated by a special panel set up by the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali, who also transmitted it to the Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, for legal contents.

Recall that on Saturday WikkiTimes reported that the Police Service Commission gave the Police two weeks ultimatum to conclude investigation into the case involving Kyari.

Earlier on Monday, NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, had at a press briefing in Abuja stated that the suspended DCP also belonged to an international drug cartel that operates across Brazil, Ethiopia and Nigeria.

Kyari, until his suspension by the commission, was the Officer-in-Charge of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, led the arrest of many notorious criminals in Nigeria.
