Easter: Seven ‘Sara Suka’ Violent Group Members Paraded by Bauchi Police

In its attempt to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration, Bauchi Police Command says it has paraded seven persons suspected to be members of the ‘Sara Suka’, a notorious group wreaking havoc within the metropolis.

Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, in a statement said the suspects were arrested at their hideout in an uncompleted building at Magaji Quarters Bauchi on Saturday. 

“Sequel to the directives of the Commissioner of Police to the Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical teams to raid criminal hideouts and ensure maximum security and serenity of the Easter celebration.

“On 08/04/2023 at about 0930hrs, operatives attached to C’ Divisional Police Headquarters Bauchi in collaboration with a quasi-security outfit acted on a credible intelligence raided a criminal hideout in an uncompleted building situated at Magaji Quarters Bauchi,” he stated.

Wakil revealed the suspects’ identities to include; Rayyanu Mohammed, Mustapha Harisu, Yusuf Ibrahim, Mubarak Lawal, Abubakar Musa, Al-Amin Hussaini and Hamza Umar all from Magaji Quarters in the Bauchi metropolis.

Two axes, three knives, 10 empty bottles of cough syrup, two empty rubber solutions and some alcoholic beverages were items recovered with the suspects.

The spokesman explained that investigations have revealed that the suspects belonging to the group are well known for terrorizing the city.

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Aminu Alhassan noted that the investigation is in progress after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution, urging the parents and guardians to get acquainted with the activities of their children.
