Eid-el-Fitri: Cleric tasks Muslims on lessons learnt during Ramadan

The Chief Imam of the Benin Central Mosque, Abdufatah Enabulele, has called on Muslims to continue to put into practice the lessons they learnt during the period of Ramadan on a daily basis.

Enabulele made the call on Tuesday in Benin while delivery his Sallah message to muslim faithful at the Eid prayer grounds.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there was a heavy security presence at the prayer grounds on the Benin/Auchi road.

According to him, “After fasting for one good month, and practice all what is good, at the same time avoiding all that is evil, we should continue with only the good practices after the Ramadan.

“If we continue with this practice, those good ideals, we will become  better human beings, and in that process, Nigeria will be a better society for everyone of us to live in.

We appeal to us to work together and unify together, because the efforts of building this country are a collective responsibility for all, which is certainly not for the leaders alone.

“Our leaders should try to unite the country together to enable their policies work effectively, as it is only in unity we can achieve greater things as a nation.

“My humble appeal to our leaders, is that they should also work on the economy, because the naira now has no serious value at the international market.’’

Enabulele called on all Nigerians to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders, for God to grant them wisdom to effectively pilot the affairs of the nation.

Also speaking, the Speaker, Edo House of Assembly, Mr Kabiru Adjoto, called on Muslims to continue to practice all the good things they learnt in the Ramadan season.

“We continue to live the life of love, live in holiness, a life of forgiveness, a life of oneness, a life that shows that this world is vanity upon vanity, that we should be good at all time.

“During the period of the Ramadan, we were very good and charitable, pure, self abstainer, we did a lot of good things to please God and humanity.

“We should not say that Ramadan is over, we should continue to be good even when the period of Ramadan is over,’’ he said.
