With a view to give succor to the needy, vulnerable groups, others, a Non-governmental Organization known as Haidar Care Foundation has supported them with food items to celebrate this year’s Sallah festival with ease.
Distributing the foods items to the beneficiaries on Thursday at the central Mosques Bauchi, the Program Coordinator of the NGO, Mohammed Muktar Isa said that the food items were meant to help the poor especially those who don’t have relatives to provide them with food items to celebrate this coming Sallah.
According to him, it was the desire of the foundation to provide for the vulnerable in the society especially those who are in dear need of food items.
“Nigerian leaders have failed us because majority of us are going hungry and have no food items in their houses to cook for the children during Sallah but some have in abundance but could not help others”, he lamented.
Earlier in her remarks, a senior staff of the foundation, Mariya Yari Bappa noted that the foundation is out to ensure that the needy have something to eat with their fellow neighbors on Sallah.
“it is a pity that some people have so much in their houses but not willing to help or care about the less privileged in their communities”, she decried.
“When you see people fighting over food to eat in public that goes to tell that many people are hungry and there is the need for all of us to collectively stop that trend”, Hajiya Mariya said.
Commenting on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hauwa’u Mohammed thanked the foundation for the gesture, saying it would really help them before, during and even after the Sallah festival.
