Eight-day-old Twin Missing in Bauchi Teaching Hospital

Mohammad Ibrahim, an eight days old twin baby, has got missing at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi. 

The baby disappeared after his mother left him on the bed while she was outside with his twin brother. 

The Ward Head of Buzaye, Malam Adamu Haruna said they suspect an unidentified woman who disguised as a staff of the hospital to be responsible for the sudden disappearance of Muhammad.

He said since the incident, the face of the suspected woman ceased to be spotted again in the hospital. 

Malam Haruna said, “the woman spent days visiting the hospital interacting with the mother of the missing baby before taking advantage of her.”

He said the matter has been reported to the Bauchi State Police Command.

Speaking with our Correspondent, Police Public Relations Officer Bauchi State Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil confirmed the incident.

“We have commenced an investigation in earnest to arrest the person or persons suspected to have been involved in the incident of a missing twin baby at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.

“The missing baby by name Muhammed Ibrahim has only spent eight days in the hospital before the incident,” he said. 

The Chairman medical advisory committee of the hospital Dr Haruna Liman also confirmed the incident. “It is an unfortunate development.”
