Enact law to make girl child education compulsory- Disina constituents tell their rep

People of Disina District in shira LGA of Bauchi state have called for establishment of functional police formation in the area to provide security to lives and property.

This was part submissions during a town hall meeting between the constituents and their elected representative organised by International Republican Institute held in the area.

According to them, security is everyone’s business hence, the need for the member representing the area, Hon. Saleh Hodi to come to their aid by tabling the issue to the relevant authority for urgent intervention.

The participants also appealed to the law maker to embark on massive renovation of schools, provision of instructional Materials, and address the issue of unqualified teachers in various schools across the area.

Other areas which the participants called the attention of their elected leader include construction of maternity clinics, culverts, primary health centers, road networks, Agric loan, provision of farm implements, and a legislation that would make girl child education compulsory in the area.

“IRI deserves commendations from all of us for providing this kind of avenues to have face-to-face interaction with our elected representative for the first time” the constituents ascribed.

Narrating his scorecard, the member representing Disina constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly Hon. Saleh Jibrin Hodi, claimed that he had refurbished 42 boreholes which gulped more than 500,000, dug 30 Wells, and empowered 251 housewives with 5,000 each to improve their businesses.

Hon. Sale Hodi also said, he has donated 30,000 to each of the 93 polling units in his constituency to maintain public infrastructure, adding that, he has assisted 30 small business owners in the area with 10k each to grow their business.

He recalled with pride that, he presented 3 motions before the house which has to do with security, flooding, and road construction which he said has been captured in 2020 budget.

The member however assured the people of his constituency of adequate and quality representation that would make them reap more dividend of democracy.

Members of Youth and women groups, market women, ward heads, religious leaders, vigilante groups, NURTW, blind associations attended the town hall meeting.
